Myra Robinson is a semi-retired ex head teacher with a specialism in children with behaviour problems. For that, she says, you need the ability not to take yourself too seriously, and a good sense of humour.

She also has a passion for the correct use of English, carrying with her wherever she goes the means to make minor corrections to the written word, eliminating incorrect apostrophes and correcting spellings.

She has written and published articles on a wide variety of subjects, but mainly on education and travel, in newspapers (including The Daily Telegraph and the Independent) and magazines, including regular pieces for the on line Italy Magazine. Her first book, Fried Flowers and Fango was published in March. This is the amusing story of her adventures in Italy, buying a small flat in a faded spa town, and her attempts to understand and eventually befriend the crazy local characters. The book is available through Amazon or Author House.

Myra lives in Newcastle upon Tyne, where she is a local magistrate, and works to support families who educate at home. She has just begun writing a blog, The Silver Snail in Italy.
